A.C. GRAYLING
The Good State
Salon / Fri 19 June / 6:30 - 8:30 PM

In the last few years, philosopher A.C. Grayling has looked at the signs of decay of many democracies around the world and has finally paused to reflect, what makes a good state?

Urged by the latest events in the UK, USA, Latin America, Russia and the Middle East, Grayling investigates why the institutions of representative democracy seem unable to sustain themselves against forces they were designed to manage, and why it matters. He believes that the foundations upon which our democracies stand are inherently flawed and vulnerable to corrosion from within.

He’ll join us in Brussels to discuss the reforms needed to create democracies that are fit for purpose and for our time.Bring your voice to our conversation on democratic reform in the contemporary world.
